Thread regarding GE Aviation layoffs

I want to make sure I did my best

I try to work harder than ever because I don't agree with those who say it's not worth it when it comes to layoffs, so they very often take their jobs for granted. Doing as much as I can is the only way to try to keep my job here until I can find a better option. That way even if I get a laid off in the meantime, I won’t blame myself for not trying everything to keep it.

It makes no difference. When it’s your time to go it’s purely numbers based- salary, age, gender, race, employee band. Any performance metric is subjective. Form strong peer relationships for references and find a place that values you (those companies still do exist)!

Continue to work hard and do an honest job you can be proud of.
GE is made up of good people like you and I.
Bitter people are toxic. Always do your best and at the least, you will sleep better at night.
GE has been great to me and I strive to be great for them.
Maybe I work with the best who instill integrity into my work behaviors.

It's also makes for a good reference on your resume when you actually work and don't act like a legacy employee who feels entitled.

Yes its a little like shampooing. Work hard, learn what you can, leave well..and then repeat.
