I would love for it to stay like this for a long time, because I feel like a new man since I work from home. WFH saves me a lot of time wasted on transportation, I’m more productive, and it would be sad to go back to the office and see that there aren’t many great people who used to spread good vibes but were laid off in meantime. For some of them I know they have found great new jobs, and for some I have no information.

I enjoyed my job with Otis/Halliburton for over 36 years. I ended up retiring.
So many people in my area got special privileges while others didn’t. I got tired of it.
Cleaning executives houses getting the dust out of antique brisket drapes.
taqueria jalisco is treating me very well. good benefits. no poseurs or bag lickers to be found.
Working for Chick-fil-A now.. could not be happier.
does working from home be considered as ex employee? how about disconnected, doesn’t give a flier, but continue to work for a paycheck count as ex employee?
Decided to leave the ups and downs of the O&G industry behind as I had developed other skills to the point that I could make a living off them. The next place I went had an unbelievably toxic culture and nothing but soulless rot at the top. Made Halliburton look like a desert oasis in comparison.
Embarking on my next endeavor soon, and though the company seems very nice, I am too wary from my previous corporate experiences to expect it to be absolutely wonderful. But I am looking forward to it nevertheless.
Left and went to consulting
Spent 10 years at Halliburton with the shadow of layoffs ever present and then it happened. I've since left the O&G sector altogether for the space industry and I'm loving it.
Used the excess of Halliburton and invested in copper. The hoard of sugar was the game changer.
I was with Hal for only one year when I get laid off in May 2020. Found a job 6 months later with 55K pay cut. I have a fond memory of Hal for giving me the highest salary of my life. I recently got a hold of lump sum retirement money from another company I worked for. I bought Hal stocks with some of that money. I'm looking forward for the company to recover as fracking will come back, imo.
Making more money and way better work–life balance. It's very refreshing. I really liked Halliburton when I started in the early 2000's, but it completely went to sh–t and glad to be somewhere else.
Got laid off in May 2020.
Took full advantage of the resume service Hal paid for and got a new job in the chemicals industry in August. Making 10k less than Hal but work life balance is good and management at this company is competent (has to be since it’s a smaller company). Lots of room for growth and promotion and much more stable than oil and gas.
Left Hal and started my own company. Learn as much as you can while you are there.
Got laid off in January of 2015. Was going to retire at the end of the year anyway. Since I worked in the labs, I would not have been able to work from home. No way they would let me set up a lab at home although that would have been cool! 43 years was enough for me. Glad it all worked out the way it did.
