Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Xerox, past, present, future?

I worked for Xerox for nearly 30 years, a short period in the US and many years in the UK.
I left 2 years ago and it saddens me to see where it is now, which is no longer a business with a future plan but a vehicle for corporate greed on an unsustainable scale.
I have no insight into layoffs, other than there will be many more until this rotting corpse is consumed.
If you still work for this outfit all I can say is leave.

To the previous commenter. Your described Awful hiring practices may be commonplace at Xerox Canada but they are not in the market. That is just laughable.

9 out of 10 workers in Canada XRX are temp agency contract workers.

The temp workers have every metric that is assessed by the top executives at the HQ. If they fail to meet those metrics, they have agency Managers who coerce the temps to work harder, until they leave or get laid off.

They have no plans of hiring directly, because there are temps who are currently working at XRX for 5, 10, 15 years, and they have been working with an agency for the minimum wage.

This is the reality of not only Xerox, but the Canadian job market as a whole. The large companies do not hire directly, they use agencies.
