Thread regarding Barnes & Noble layoffs

BN Membership

The BN Membership drive is on and in full force at stores. I am so sick of hearing about how "now would be a great time to sign up for the membership". How about BN just start offering books at Amazon prices if they really want to be competitive. I flat out told the girl I am waiting for BN to go out of business. That deflated her faster than light speed. Of course she got nasty and snarky with me after that. "Have a super day, etc". The current employees all deserve what is coming to them, termination. This company can not go out of business soon enough. Down with BN, Daunt, Riggio.

The formers were part of a thriving business . You ? The business is going under. That’s not the former’s fault. . It’s yours. But it’s the BN culture to blame others and duck responsibility.

Did they start threatening your job yet?. Our RM loved doing that.

What a terrible company to be stuck at.

Again ,blaming the Booksellers who worked when BN was a decent profitable company is such a desperate act to deflect that now ,that you are there, it’s not.

When the “formers” were there, business at BN was THRIVING! Since letting them go the company has been on a downward slide. That’s on you & your fellow part timers.

Absolutely!only those jealous and uninformed would be Putting down those who were working while Barnes was busy, making money & cared for Booksellers. To praise the poorly trained part times is both foolish and shows your insecurity.

if this is all the formers posting then it's no wonder the company let you go.

"how about BN offer books at amazon prices"
yeah, how about a brick-and-mortar business sells everything at a massive loss because a company with no overhead that operates out of massive warehouses can afford to sell books for less. you guys really have no idea what the f–k you're talking about. if this is all the formers posting then it's no wonder the company let you go. amazing business acumen. and no, I'm not a manager or corporate.

You statement saying sell books at the price that Amazon does shows your lack of business knowledge. Amazon chooses to take a loss on their book sales. BN can not not nor can independent bookstores.

Anyone buying a membership deserves to lose the money.
