Employees need to vent. It's not like were in north Korea.

It's not like you post something and 24 hours later you are called to the office, just look at this site alone for all retailers. Word of mouth, other folks see it and pass it on, then it gets to someone who must deal with it. I wouldn't think they monitor sites with algorithms or anything. Keep in mind all organizations have P&P that everyone clicks 'agree' too and moves on. Only to find out later they shouldn't be posting on their social media platforms pictures, comments and such of their work environments or fellow associates. Folks like to believe that wrongful termination suits and legal representation will beat the company every time. Keep in mind all companies have gone through the live and learn lessons and protect themselves very well. In particular with social media sites. If an individual is commenting/posting negative comments about the company, its only a matter of time before they do themselves in anyway.

No big deal. Just post anonymously and make sure that you have a VPN.

I think this may be worth challenging, yes employers are allowed to do it. Perhaps a good attorney will clarify the law. If it’s an independent 3rd party monitoring social media that should be allowed. If it’s a store manager, asm, supervisor doing it then it sounds like cyber stalking. Area HR okay if you don’t have a relation with them. Creepy manager male, female or anywhere in between shouldn’t be okay.

What this post said—>All companies do this and it's 100% legal. Check all your employment paperwork and handbooks. Read the fine print in all of them.

They've been monitoring social media for years. If you said something bad about the company you could get fired.

I hope your lawyer told you that it is legal. Many companies have this policy.
Before you say FREE SPEECH you may want to read the first amendment .
You are an AT WILL employee and are free to leave when ever you like.
