Belk is not mid-range anymore, it’s now exclusively for the budget/clearance shopper. they also expect high end service when spending $7 on a tshirt. One customer demanded we steam her $8 Kim Rodgers blouse because it was wrinkled.

And we are experiencing more and more coming in getting their 5 finger discounts. Right in front of us yet what can we do? Notta a damn thing. We had 5 testers taken in one afternoon...no AP associates around anymore, so anything goes i guess.
I can't believe the change that has occurred in such a short time. We are covered up with cheap, mean, hateful customers who love to demean us at every turn.
Yeah we know our demographic, but sadly, this type of low rent customer can’t sustain a business in the long term. Catering to these types of people will only force Belk further down the rabbit h–e.
