Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Are you required to train your replacement?

I hear from some people that they train their replacements after they are notified of the cancellations. Is that mandatory? What if someone refuses to do so? I'm trying to imagine how those who want to forget this company feel while they must train other people who will take their place. Terrible.

I have been training GBS since August 2020, I am just waiting for the announcement of when they will let us go

I agree it is mental and emotional abuse. They give you EAP (free therapy sessions) but how do you fit it in between training your replacement and staying afloat in your job at the same time.

You absolutely have to train the person who is taking your job and if not you lose your severance. It is mentally brutal and no one should have to endure it for 4-6 months ! It is good ole PepsiCo at its finest.

They lay you off and then you typically have to stay 4 to 6 months training your replacements. If you don’t, no severance pay.

When we were laid off in 2019 it was tied to your severance. No train no pay. Vultures.
