Anyone else hearing this? With centralized registers and low staffing levels. Everyone from store managers to sales associates will be getting the axe. Small doors are down to one register at some locations.

Also kohl’s has a customer service desk, Belk does not. Having sales and returns at one counter is a mess.
Step into a Kohls- that current structure will be implemented here (only, without Amazon to help).
Not gonna lie, it makes me really happy to know that it’s the same at every Belk, not just my store. This business model is unsustainable.
Attendance will be the excuse for layoffs. Get ready for it.
I wish they'd stop selling clearance online. It takes way too much time to find one stupid Joyland sweater from two seasons ago. Either that or close on Sundays and allow associates to spend the day cleaning up the store. No floor moves, no special projects, just clean up clearance, put out freight, do go backs and make sure every rack has the right items on it. For a company that claims to be so invested in e-commerce, they don't act like it. They're making everyone's job that much harder unnecessarily.
I don’t think it will be mass layoffs. What happened and no seems to be talking about, is that many STMS, ASMS, and visual, lost their jobs due to the “new matrix.” Belk kept this quiet. Some of those were not even replaced, and instead stores got a “sales captain.” Stores are functioning at minimal staffing right now, which is not enough. It will be the death of BELK and it’s EMPLOYEES, if they do any more layoffs. Employees are to busy finding 8.99 clearance Kim roger shirts...
i was thinking about the first new sign of trouble after the bankrupty there has to be some kind of layoffs or cutbacks that always happens to stores after bankruptcy i also believe that maybe mid second quarter we might see some headlines of trouble for belk maybe not to sure on that but i'm just as curious on whats happening at belk
