It was very stressful after the layoff, I went through a horrible period because I couldn’t find a new job right away and I didn’t have a lot of savings, but it all ended well. I’m in a new company now and I’ve never felt better. If I hadn’t gotten layoff, I’d probably still be in this ridiculous company.
This way, it is only now clear to me how bad it was at SF, without me even being aware of it, because over time I got used to bad conditions.

this thread really sums up how fake and toxic this place is. the only people being rational have massive downvotes, with a dishonest OP, and no real discussion.
I wish you got fired earlier also.
What an -@$$ #0L3
@jxg explain your situation? Layoff evokes the situation where you are called into a meeting and everyone is packing their desks that afternoon. Being transitioned with a 2-3 year window and a severance payment at the end to me is not a layoff. And to the other poster's point, if you were the only one who got laid off, that is called being fired.
ok downvote, but you dont know what actual layoffs are apparently. apologies for trying to educate.
they havent done layoffs at state farm. you got fired. there is a difference.
I'm glad it worked out well for you. Thanks for sharing your story.
