Thread regarding 3M layoffs

How do you cope with constant stress?

Working in this company has been reduced to constant worrying and stress. I am anxious every day because I constantly hear that my colleagues are being laid off one by one and I am just waiting for my turn to come. It's a horrible feeling.
At the same time, I’ve been looking for jobs at other companies but it's really difficult to even get to the interview phase. I need to get out of here as soon as possible.

I golf and take 2 hour lunches on the company’s dime!

I feel relieved being let go. The past year with 3M was more work and less people and micromanagement and processes changing daily, I everyone stressed every day . I think 3M will start selling off parts of the company by the end of 2021 or early 2022

Job hunting is hard, but I think it is time for most employees to abandon 3M. My hope is if enough quality people leave, maybe senior management will get a clue. Even if 3M doesn't figure it out, there are better firms out there to work for.

Once the pandemic is over, or at least under control, many competant people will leave MInnesota MIning. The ones who will stay are mostly above 50 crowd, who will have a hard time finding outside jobs anyway or people who have roots in the upper midwest and are waiting out for retirement and pension benefits.

Meanwhile the smart ones, esp. millenials, have already figured out that this company offers very little if anything at all in terms of career growth, unless of course you are in the management track, and hence are leaving the company in record nos. Every quarter it seems, familiar names leaving the company !
