Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

What is fair in this company?

It seems like the review scorecards are predetermined according to how your store did. They see it more like a team scorecard vs individual. I use to work in receiving and thought I did very well but on my review included how well the store did in sales, opening accounts and magic. I understand where they are coming from but I have zero control over opening accounts and very rarely deal with customers.
So when my people leader was rating me on several key things, on some of them, I was told that because the store didn’t do well, I couldn’t get above meets expectations or higher. I think it’s unfair because I’m being graded on something out of my control.

Undoubtedly, this is very unfair, as are many other things here. The question is what is fair and is there actually such a thing here?

Even if you get a good rating you still don’t get a good raise....I got a 4.2 on my review and and only got a 3% increase, same for my people. I will barely notice a difference on my check.

It's been this way for years, it's not changing. There is a small portion, about 20%, that is about your personal behavior and performance, but the rest is store performance. What you do and how you perform feeds up to results, right,? Lol

It has been this way for many years. There is no individual reward or incentive. The support team especially has always fallen victim to this. Giving your all to every facet of the business from floor moves to unloading and processing the trucks to signing and visual and on and on... means nothing. You are lumped into things beyond your control. This leads to very low morale and just feeling beaten every day.

How about actually rating people on an individual basis vs how the store did. Reward hard working people, not punish them for the lazy ones or the ones who don't pull their weight. If Macy's wants to keep good workers, get serious about it and show them. Stop coming up with these silly reliability scores, scorecards and other things that do nothing to hold people accountable because they are not being enforced and obviously not taken seriously.
