Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Xerox refusing to listen to Purolator truck driver concerns of safety hazard on Xerox premises?

I work at the dock at Xerox in Toronto, Canada.

For the past month, the Purolator truck driver complains every day that one of the pump trucks are too narrow to carry large cages.

He is concerned for his safety, and he refuses to use the pump truck for that cage, requiring us to drop the load halfway and use a wider skid.

Of course, the Manager times us, and accuses us of wasting time and that my department is not meeting quotas.

My coworker wrote down this issue in the time log, and instead of taking his advice, the department tried to convince him that the load is safe and "light".

The lady was pushing the cage and then told my coworker that the cage is light and if the Purolator truck driver continues to complain, then the Manager should talk to him (which implied intimidating the truck driver and treating him like a fool).

Is this how Xerox is run, and should the Ministry of Labour get involved to inspect the pump trucks and loading dock. Most staff don't even wear safety shoes when working in the dock.

Are Xeroids that d––b to assume that the Purolator courier will take c––p like the temp contractors?

I wouldn't be surprised if the HQ Purolator outright refuses to deliver or take in goods from Xerox if their employees are being harassed by the Xerox Managers.

You're also looking at a potential OHSA violation and potential reprisals for speaking up on workplace hazards, especially when you and your coworker witnessed the yes–men attempt to gaslight you on the weight of the cages, as if everyone knows the weight of merchandise in cages.
