Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

How comforting is it that you still have a job?

I'm getting tired of people saying I should be happy that I still have a job and that I should think of those who have lost their jobs. C’mon, what consolation is that?
Of course I feel sorry for the people who lost their jobs, but working here has become a nightmare. I work more than ever and beyond my means. Working conditions have become far from normal. Constant burnout.

Yeah not everybody can just up and quit there job for those that say at least you have a job. Does anyone ever get 2 days off in a row anymore? I haven't had 2 days off in a row much less a weekend in almost 2 months now. And when I do work, there's never anybody else scheduled in my area, not even a part timer. If I didn't need a job, id kick dust on this s-hole. And how the bluehell hasn't Marv been oust yet?

Very comforting, I decided to take Saturday off to combine with Easter off. 2 day weekend. Cough, sniffle, sneeze.

Get that resume updated and get out! Stop telling yourself it will get better. With the stock @ 190 and to keep it there things will only get worse. You are not an asset, you are an expense to cut. All the seasonal hire propaganda.....and they cut hours.....wake up! ASM, SM, MSM, DMSM, 6 DS's gone in less than 6 months at one store. Most left on there own, found something that made them happier and healthier...some wealthier. When I worked for a real corporation, an investigation would have taken place if more than 3 Managers left within that time frame. Lowes has become a "stop over" job, it is no longer a place for a career. You are all some of the best people that I have worked with, you are all I miss, you are better than this!

Be sure to tell anyone that gives you that classic line of c––p that "Lowe's is hiring" and that you look forward to their revised opinion after a couple weeks of working for Lowe's. Just about every employee I associate with at my store is currently looking for other employment. I predict that it won't be much longer before Lowe's poor reputation towards store level employees bites them in the pocket book and they will have to raise their starting pay dramatically just to get anyone to even apply.

If you don't like the job go somewhere else unless you can't get another job.
