Thread regarding Emerson Electric Co. layoffs

This is not the same company

Never been more unhappy with my career with Emerson than I am now. This company isn’t the same company it was 3 years ago, much less what it was 10 or 20 years ago. All of the fun has been s—ed out and I won’t be able to take it much longer. It doesn’t matter who you are, you’re just a number they will get rid of on their next knee jerk reaction. Loyalty and talent is no longer valued and if you’re not part of the “click” you can forget about promotions. Really sad because it use to be a great place to work, unfortunately that has changed.

Perfectly stated, @eugm+19UahLLp. Reposted for visibility.

I agree here, however I believe it started about 2012. Hiring salesmen to run this company is stupid. Maybe its even more insane to listen to indoctrinated MBAs with the same lockstep mantra. Now I see that they have lumped "Diversity and Inclusion" in with Environmental, Health and Safety. BS What does this have to do with Emerson's bottom line? If you question this, then they will say you are against Safety or the Environment. Unfortunately the company is setup so that we can't even get our own Directors elected. All we can do is vote for the designated candidate or not vote. The bylaws at the top are corrupt and I wonder if the Directors even question the direction of these id--ts. Spend money on Diversity when they can't even improve the lives of the employee you have, the bottom-line of the stockholder, or improve productivity. But they are spending money on BS?

My view is that if you are laid off, count it a blessing and move to a company with real ethics. Be Brave! Oh and sell your EMR Stock! No need supporting these misdirected oafs!

I asked a long tenured employee if it was always this bad. He said no, it used to be a great place. Said it's been going down hill for a while but has really increased in decline within the last year. Piss poor morale, sorry middle management, and below average wages gets minimum performance and effort.

I can only agree here. Frankly hasn't been a good place for several years, say eight or so.
