There's nothing Macy's employees will not complain about, apparently. First you complained because there were no raises and now you're complaining that raises are too low. I don't think there's anything this company could do to make you less miserable here. I really think it's time to look for another job, for your own sake.

You could type the same salary figures for every CEO retailer.
As Chief Executive Officer at MACY'S INC, Jeff Gennette made $11,813,102 in total compensation. Of this total $1,300,000 was received as a salary, $3,315,000 was received as a bonus, $0 was received in stock options, $7,096,408 was awarded as stock and $101,694 came from other types of compensation. This information is according to proxy statements filed for the 2021 fiscal year.
The above statement of Gannett’s salary says it all.

We have reason to complain. The fact that management thinks it’s OK to pay new hires and the tenured people who have been here ten plus years the same is a total disgrace. It’s time for the employees who work and keep the stores running to jump ship.
Macy’s is totally unethical. Macy’s deserves all that is coming to them. And now management is wondering why people are leaving in drove’s.

21 years went on call got pay cut to $11 and stayed till the end I got a .5 cent raise.. I made more in 1989, 32 years ago.. even shop rite starts at 15 to 17 an hour with paid training..there are so many jobs out there you just have to “ cut the cord” and leave..
Listen there is nothing worse than listening to an associate complaint about hours, work conditions people calling out, lunch breaks lack of help the list goes on and on and all this is done at the registers in front of customers. Quit bi—g and move on like I did there are so many JOBS out there I can’t for the life of me understand how people are still on employment. And what’s even worse is the lack of AIR flow in these stores you’re breathing in everyone germs. And don’t get me started on some of the management in Garden State, she just stood at the register pulling lint out of her pocket while the poor one associate had at least 10 customers on line..bi—g that someone called out or a typical no show and literally said “ oh well” and let the associate all alone.
You think Macy's is bad? I came to Macy's from Sears. Sears is far worse.
They put on a good show promoting Macy’s at the thanksgiving parade every November.

You think it's only Macys? There are other retail stores and it's all of the same. Need to ask each customer about signing them up for store card and it happens everywhere.
What do you think the point of this website is? Do you actually think employees should come here to talk about how great Macy's is treating them?
people complain cause the company is run like a garbage truck... it picks up trashy employees then feeds their ego for years whole dangling the promotion carrot in front of them for 20 year.. then lets them go cause they didn't open enough cards..
The cost of literally everything has gone up but our pay has not increased to the same proportion. It is a legitimate complaint.
