The problems at Belk (as of April 1, 2021) are EXACTLY the SAME issues that Toys R Us and SEARS had before they went under. They also tried to use a smoke and mirrors technique to gaslight employees and gullible store level management into thinking their was some hope for the companies. Toys R Us executive leadership was eventually charged with fraud. Not saying there is fraud at Belk, but if it looks like duck, walks like a duck it’s a duck. These types of executives thrive on having uninformed and for lack of a better word uneducated people working for them, but as the old saying goes “you can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time”. Belk is still riding on fumes like it said in their bankruptcy papers, they just want everyone to think it’s back to normal, but it’s far from it.

They honestly think we don’t notice anything. Getting in winter merchandise that went to markdown a month ago is perfectly normal, they aren’t clearing out their warehouses or anything 🙄
