Walking thru a few malls. I noticed it’s more closed stores. Less shoppers. Terrible merchandise. No need for a mall.

Have you read the Walmart blog on this site?
Sadly when you have executives who refuse to actually observe stores incognito they tend to fall over. When Walmart pays its employees more than Macy’s you know there’s a serious problem. When 60+ year old women tell you Macys is cheap and messy and they’d rather go to Marshall’s that speaks volumes.
I have been working for Macy's for over 17 years. The downhill started to be evident 6 years ago exactly. And from there, a significant stores closing, one after the others. From a team of 6/7 ,we're down to 3 associates, dealing with everything, from assist customer, doing lots of stock, cleaning a lot with alcohol and so on.
Working in fragrances, I don't see a long term situation like of today's economy.
Maybe 2 years?????
I truly miss the malls. Being a kid to teen in the 90s to early 00s hanging out with your friends after school and weekend playing arcades, watching movies, buying the latest fits, great times. Then smartphones took over along with online shopping and everyone prefers to be glued to their screens than be out enjoying life.
Oh “ it’s doing great “ “ nothing to see here “. We are gonna bring the mall back. Gulp gulp gulp. Must be neon kool

My store and the mall were crazy busy on Good Friday and Saturday. I went to grab something to eat at the mall food court and the mall was full of people, some wearing face masks and others without, it almost seemed like old times before pandemic.
You must have been walking through the Pacific View Mall in Ventura CA. It's a dying mall.

This has been going on for over a decade. If you are just now realizing it, you must be brain dead.
