Now that I think about it, getting laid off wouldn't as bad as continuing to work in these really difficult conditions where we are missing so many employees.
Worst of all, those who were best at what they do are gone, and the rest are leaving on their own and that is very demoralizing. My career has been stagnant for a long time.
I never thought that one day I would no longer care if I was laid off or not. Anyone else?

The severance being offered is decent:
- 60 days as an employee, with little/no responsibility
- Additional severance, up to 6 months based years of service
- COBRA support for 6 months
Basically, 3M pays at least 2 months and up to 8 months, with at least some health care. It would not be a bad sabbatical to be fair. If I got laid off tomorrow, it would not be the end of the world.
You get 2 months of pay and 6 months of reduced health care cobra costs. Its actually not that bad. You should be able to find a job within 8 months, so its nothing to be afraid of.
