Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

A living he-l

I know it’s hard to believe but I really enjoy my job. I like the customers I meet and for the most part I like my coworkers. But there is just one that stands out who makes it difficult for me and I can’t understand why. I am always courteous and friendly to her. But in return she is extremely rude to me, at times belittling me. I try to see the good in everyone; she is well like by our peers so I am assuming it’s just me that she dislikes. I try to let it go but honestly I’m starting to get fed up. I’m not the confrontational type and I don’t want to make it an issue to bring up with management. What options do I have?

Anytime you work with 125+ other people in a building this usually happens with at least one individual, no matter how nice or congenial you are. Every store that I ever worked in always had at least 2-3 people that were either very unlikeable, extremely temperamental, or both.

Claim that she ridiculed your s3xuality and continues to single you out based on your life preferences. She won't be hateful towards you anymore after that. He-l she may not be anything lowe's after that.

If she is just resistant to YOUR attempts to be nice, then stop doing it. Don't interact with her, other than when absolutely required. Never acknowledge her first, don't say hi, don't wave, etc... Stop trying to be nice to someone who doesn't appreciate it.
Not everyone likes everyone else. It's just a fact of life. It's unpleasant, when you're on the receiving end, but it is what it is. Trying to push the matter could be considered harassment.

If she's actively seeking YOU out to be mean, then you'll have to put a stop to it. Start by letting her know, the very next time she does it, that you're done putting up with it and it has to stop RIGHT NOW. If that doesn't work, then take it to management. It's 2021. Nobody has to put up with that cr-p these days.
