I was relieved when SM who enjoyed belittling some of us went somewhere else. It was like a holiday. Only now do I see how much his behavior has affected the quality of our work. Before I didn’t have the will to work at all, in fact I barely worked.
When the new store manager came, who is fortunately sensible enough, everything became a different story. Motivation for work has returned, I do my job much easier and I am much more productive.

i still can't understand how store managers can work less hours than associates and STM's and not work weekends. SMH
That makes all the difference! Difficult times can be depressing under a loser and positive life challenge under a true leader. I had that amazing experience when awesome SM came into building, and sad place was turned into positive and inspiring one, still with rules and expectations, and we actually wanted to go to work every day. Now it’s a memory, probably not going to see something like that again. Not many like that out there.
Love my manager and his/her management team! Even in difficult times, all managers at every level have pulled together and rally an overall store team approach.
