Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

So slow!

My store is extremely slow! I’m worried more layoffs will be coming soon. I don’t see BBB surviving this. I would guess full timers will be the next cuts!

Once BBBY has to pay all the back rent the hours will get cut further and more store closures will be announced. The property manager has actually come to our store twice in the last month because she can’t get ahold of anyone at corporate and tells us we need to pay the rent now. Like we are supposed to take it out of the register. We barely clear $1500 a day cash that won’t happen.

our store went not doing freight for roughly an hour or two into this ‘mission’ start today; after the suprisingly well staffed sales floor annoyed the couple of customers that came in, our store manager just let them actually start doing work

Store is dead Monday thru Thursday then gets busy Friday thru Sunday,

Today was Friday. It was busy. Actually had a lot of stupid people who are upset they aren’t getting coupons or not have to go online to search for them (Like they haven’t been out of their houses since December of 2019!!🤯🤔) ugggh.

No not the same poster but now I see a similar one.
Now that we can’t do freight on Friday we are extremely bored!!! Not enough customers in the store to support us. So endlessly wondering around getting nothing done since we can’t do projects.

This is what used to happen to US stores in Canada in olden times. Then the Ontarians grokked that everyone from Kmart to Sears to eventually Target was carrying fewer items than their US stores.

Sales plummeted and forced Sears and Target out. You cannot take an assortment like BBBY had and reduce it to nothing overnight. These brands have loyal customers, too.

Yeah I don’t know outside of the usual Saturday and Sunday rush it hasn’t felt as busy this spring as it did in previous years pre-covid. Changing so much of the store’s product line and limiting the amount of choices in the store isn’t as good of a idea as corporate thinks it is.
