Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

Where have all the rumors about layoffs gone?

I haven't heard any rumor about layoffs in a long time. Maybe I'm missing something? I hope the bad news doesn’t ruin my vacation. I do not trust those at the top even when they say that the situation is good and that there will be no cuts. If anyone has any insight, please share.

Why so many dislikes on the last comment? They have a point. Contribute. Have integrity. Be of value. Work for a living. It’s not a complicated concept.

Ride it out until you get the shoulder tap? What. People who “ride it out” are literally the people who make everyone’s jobs harder. Collecting a paycheck while everyone else hustles and does the actual work. That’s not working smarter that’s getting in the way. Whoever posted that atrocious advice should be ashamed. That’s the kind of egotistical toxicity / old school mentality that is the literal opposite of what it takes to be successful in any workforce today. Hope you’re able to ride the wave to retirement because you’re clearly not an asset to this company and have no capacity to be an asset to any other.

I highly doubt the layoff package and the voluntary retirement package are the same.

It just doesn't matter anymore. The layoff package is the same as the retirement package so just ride it out until you get the shoulder tap. Anyone good at Mattel or FP left long ago, the remaining slackers & sycophants won't be missed anyway. Who stays and what passes for talent here boggles the mind. Topping the list are YnKr, RiDi, ChDo and ScGo, and those losers will be the last 4 survivors to turn the lights off long after we've all been dismissed into the ether.

How many of those that turned down the option to retire were laid off? They should be the first to go.

In EA they are asking for volunteers 50+ to take a retirement package. Last time this happened they still had layoffs when the quota wasn’t meet.

If you’re so concerned about layoffs you’re probably underperforming.
