I always thought that we were short staffed but honestly this is RIDICULOUS. By my count we’ve lost more than 1/3 of our coworkers in less than a year and we’ve only hired a handful. I’m not sure what’s going on; why people are quitting and why we’re not filling open positions. Is anyone else seeing a major loss of long term employees as well?

From what I’ve observed, all area HR mgrs do is post job openings on social media.
District HR’s may not actually administer the training but making sure that it IS happening in the stores is under their purview.
This is a very good example of how upper managment refuses to take ownership of a well-document ed problem in the stores.
“there is zero training. the district hr person speaks snarky at everyone yet does zero training for anyone and then blames store managers for not doing their job. until lowe's figures out turnover - it is going to be a mess“
But it’s not the District HR’s job to train. That’s literally the store managements responsibility and if they are not training their associates then no they didn’t do their job
Response: Last time I checked it was our job to train the store managers, ssa's etc and train in many ways. I am watching other district hr's having alligator arms and pretending it is not on them - but what else does the district hr do? everything else has been given to corporate if we don't step it up in some area, our roles will be moved too!

Short answer, Yes. In my department we have had 4 out of the 6 employees either quit or transfer to other stores/departments IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS alone! And I am not making that up. Simply put everybody has had it. How many people have they hired to replace them? Try ZERO. It is well beyond ridiculous at this point. Get to look forward to yet another weekend with only an opener and a closer.
Do work for Lowes but the scheduling system isn't exactly attractive. I know a few folks that work there and you simply don't have a work life balance. All of us in retail understand X-mas season, and for Lowes and HD we get 100 days of summer, but be realistic with scheduling.
Easy. Why would someone want to work here for $11-12 an hour, in a job where you can get hurt VERY easily, won't be trained at all, have a sh1tty schedule, and have to do the work of 3+ departments when you can just work at target for $15 an hr or Walmart for $14. Lowes will continue to pay people based on the j3w scale as they see fit
#581 to a T!
They need to pay more to start and give increases to existing workers, and I'm talking dollars not cents.
