Thread regarding Belk layoffs

What Do You Consider Quality Customer Service?

It's a shame Belk, and managers measure an associates worth, by a customer's willingness to give their personal data to Belk and third parties.
How is obtaining emails, and selling a 29% interest rate credit card, considered quality customer service?
Customers find it annoying, and most of the elderly dont have an email.
As for the credit card, customers decline, they dont want their credit checked, and do ask what the interest rate is.
All Belk wants, is the customers data and interest money.
Gone are the days of personalized customer service,
and a clean store, which survived for decades without emails.
Next agenda, robotic artificial intelligence working the register, or scan, bag and pay for the items yourself.

Want slick?

When you go to HomeDepot and check out, pin pad screen says "email or print reciept". Go ahead, hit e-mail cause you think it's more convenient. You just gave them your email and every one else they sell it too. Slick.

It's all about MONEY! IT all leads back to making money. They basically force people to give their email. Belk forces you to download an app for a discount. Companies don't really Care about the customer. But I don't understand why , if you are trying to purchase an item in store for one price but online it's cheaper, how come the store doesn't honor the lowest price. This makes no sense. I've had people walk out and buy elsewhere because of that. Or do other stores give the discount to the customer ?

True. But it’s not just belk asking for these metrics. All retail stores are. Go to dillards, Macy’s, or Nordstrom. They’ll ask for your email and ask you to join their credit program. Sephora and Ulta, same story. Made a purchase at Home Depot, and guess what they asked me to apply for?

Yes belk is lacking at recovery as our corporate leadership team only sees clean stores when they visit.

As far as artificial checkout…? Have you been to Walmart or target ? The technology is there. But belk won’t live long enough to see it
