At my store: no front end supervisors, usually one person running self checkout who now has to also help cashiers. When I work a full front door shift, I’m told there is no one to cover my breaks. I don’t understand really, because I was “trained” front door for about 5 minutes before the person who trained me when on their break, so why can’t they train someone to cover my breaks? Ever since, I’ve been the only one to cover people’s breaks on front door. We’re severely understaffed and dealing with constant call outs but I can’t blame my coworkers. It’s clearly going downhill.

Maybe Chris Baldwin, Bob Eddy, Jeff Desroches etc. can come out from hiding and ring out a few members themselves! While they're at it they can see their new plan in action and explain to the members why lines are back to the meat department and only self checkouts are open. When they get done that they can start filling the freezer with the order that had to sit for days because the club has no one left that can work it. Then they can zone the club until 11pm and make sure it is 100% ready for the night crew. And since he likes to hold strut around and hold "Town Hall" meetings Baldwin can get "In The Arena" and explain to the 2000 to 3000 team members why they had to lose their jobs after a record year and were paid humiliating severances, if they got one at all. Then he can address the shareholders the company was untruthful with when revealing the first quarter results yesterday. He can let them know that since April 3rd the company has been hiding their "restructuring" from the general public and press and that most of their top performers in the field are no longer employed. He can also explain why most of the company execs have been in sell mode of their stocks in the 6 months leading up to April 3rd. CEO Lee Delaney died on April 9th. Do you think that things might be linked ? This company is mega-dirty and scrambling to cover up what they've done before the house of cards falls completely down!!!
There is no longer self checkout assistance. The scan guns are gone so lift that water yourself to scan it I guess. Things have changed and not for the better.
