Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Things can only go downhill

The new scheduling is a disgrace and a great humiliation for all the people who have been loyal to this company for years. I understand that the logic behind everything is for everyone to be a part of it and for the company to avoid paying benefits as much as possible.

However, the most valuable asset of any company are the people, and those who once helped Walmart grow are certainly not the ones who are full time and have been given 20 or 30 hours. I do not intend to work under such conditions. Good luck with the unskilled employees... they will be your karma.

Oh, boo hoo. So did you think working at Walmart was going to be your golden ticket to happiness ever after? You’re going to buy that house in the suburbs with the picket fence working at Walmart? Here’s a news flash: Walmart uses nonskilled labor as do most retail companies. If you had stayed in school, got a degree and stayed out of jail, you’d be in a nice salary job for some company that had a career path to offer.

Walmart is an awful employer. They just think of ways to sc--w their employees and get them to leave. Loyalty means nothing to this sh-t company. If you get a chance get out now it will just get worse as it does year after year.

Latest rumor is walmart plans to reduce salary managers againnover the course of the next few years. They're training team leads to cover everything.

I've been hearing rumors that Walmart Technologies is trying to create cybernetic squirrels and train them so they can work in the stores and clubs as to get rid of associates. /s

New scheduling is a joke. I worked same shift for ten years but now they want me to work outside my availability and are giving my shift to a person who has been there longer with the company even though I was in that position longer. Just because someone has been there longer doesn’t mean they are the better employee. This is Walmart’s way of pushing people out the door and making people lose their full time and benefits. Awful company and it just gets worse there.

Welcome to the new world of retail. And by the way, most of retail is and has been unskilled labor.
