Why does Belk always, ALWAYS punishes its best employees who work hard and who are the responsible ones by pushing us under the bus, be it with customers or by laying us off? Yet workers who are lazy, gossipy, and rude with customers and the rest of us always get a pass. Why's that the case?

When you work hard you always busy and with a plan what needs to be done next. You are not there to gossip and joke around, so you missing opportunities to be liked by upper folks on personal level. Most likely they don’t even know how much was done by you...
Belk isn’t about sales; it’s data gathering, emails, credit information.
As long as you open accounts you can get away with anything. And it does not matter if you trick the poor old people into them. I have had to help so many people fix their card problems. Are you surprised that belk has no morales. They never have.
Because the “best” or seasoned employees make $15+. 😁 and belk wants you gone ASAP!
