Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Depends on your management

I keep reading how horrible some stores are. Our store has managers that care about their employees and actually encourage growth and advancement. The atmosphere is wonderful and we enjoy coming into work. I know other stores are not the same. I feel bad for those locations that have managers who only look out for themselves and doesn’t see employees for their worth and treat them accordingly. But not all are like that.

The manager we have says that if you want a pat on the back for a job well done, you’re in the wrong place. He says that the company pays us to come in and give 100% everyday, so there’s no need to congratulate us unless we go above and beyond.

I used to have a store like yours. We were always top sales in the market. The associates were happy. It wasn't
horrible coming to work everyday. Then we got a tyrant for a manager. She ran our great store into the ground over 5 yrs. We are now lowest sales in the market and had a terrible inventory. The moral is in the toilet. The store is trashed cause no one wants to work anymore. Well, they finally fired her azz!! It has been heavenly since she got booted. Now I'm praying for a better manager, but I've been working here 29yrs, I've seen more 💩 managers than good ones. I'm hope we get someone that can inspire the associates instead of intimidating them. Wish us luck!!

Even though you have a good store. The company keeps taking from the people that do the actual work. It’s still horrible!

I’m transferring to another store soon I’m hoping it will be better than the one I’m at currently. Mangers are awful and treat us bad.
