Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Next Pulse Survey

As we are working on the next Pulse survey, how about instead of asking questions about racial injustice, discrimination, and social ills, we update the process to include the following; as always, rated from Strongly Agree to Strongly Disagree by colleagues.

  1. I feel that Macy's pays a competitive wage in the retail workplace.
  2. Macy's insurance options provide coverage for me and my family at a reasonable cost.
  3. The recent .40 cent an hour raise that Macy's gave to hourly colleagues regardless of performance to cover last two years including working through the pandemic was fair and equitable.
  4. I think it's fair that our CEO makes 461 times the median Macy's colleague ($10,308,320 - CEO vs. $22,353 - median employee compensation 2020).
  5. The workload and expectations for my role are reasonable and achievable.

Oh, and if we could also go back to having a survey that doesn't require you to input our employee ID and be able to take anonymously, we might get survey results that reflect what people actually think instead of what leadership wants to hear.

Strongly agree with the questions you have proposed. And yes the associate ID requirement needs to go away, too. People are afraid to speak the truth because of that. But unfortunately the company wants a certain level of agreement so they have tipped the scales in their favor. It will never be a real snapshot of what's going on in the stores. No one I've spoken to in our store cares one bit about all the social justice push our CEO has us neck deep in. They just need to work and pay the bills.
