Thread regarding Marathon Oil Corp. layoffs

How to get a bonus?

Someone asked a good question: what does an employee have to do to get a bonus here?
The answer is certainly not that I need to work harder because I already work hard enough.

So from a person who worked there tail off for four years and I was one of top ranks in my area that review year, 2020 evaluations In which I contributed new programs on my processes which became programs. But to find out that all my extra time working around the clock to help answer questions Lead me to be laid off the ….First round ….doesn’t mean sh&t. No matter what no matter your efforts no one is willing to promote or acknowledge your contribution…ever! So start living in the real world…
No one there cares And none of them are your friends no matter what!!!!

I think you should spend more time posting worthless content on this message board. Keep shining like the star you are!

You need to kiss a-s. Your end of year assessment you fill out needs to show your worth. Whether it is real or not, realize people 2 levels above you don't even know who you are. It's complete BS anyway. Do not be honest, just make yourself sound like some kind of savior to MRO. I've been here a while and how 'hard' you work doesn't translate at all to your bonus. If management somehow didn't sc--w up, you'll get a bonus. If they did sc--w up, you'll lose LTIP. They say there is a formula to calculate bonus...but the formula changes every year and changes based on performance of company or management whims. It's a shell game really and you can't win. You just sometimes lose less.

The fact you need to ask what to do suggests you are some way off deserving one. You don’t want to work harder so what does that leave? Use what ever ability you have to add value stop whining and appreciate that probably your base salary is fair compensation until you sort your self out.
