Thread regarding Synamedia layoffs

Firings will continue until morale improves

Layoffs will likely continue until the legal bill has been paid and we all go on to live happily ever after in the building we thought we'd left.

Don’t hold your breath, we’re not even close to coming home. They said during last month’s UK All Hands that they would update us at the end of January. They are never going to tell us the truth and will continue treating us with the utmost contempt. No wonder all the internal communications people have abandoned the company
This has, and will continue to be a very expensive mistake that will run into millions. Fortunately for SeaSalt his best mate is the CFO as this PO will definitely need CFO sign off. We’ve already wasted hundreds of thousands… setting up CF1 and fitting out labs for a very temporary occupation…moving costs…storage costs…Regus office costs but only 1 person actually uses it (rarely)…thousands of pounds spent on taxis for commuting to Staines. Once an agreement has been reached, Cisco will need to be paid at least 18 months of missed rent and other costs for running the site in our absence…then there are our legal costs, New York lawyers are not cheap. Hopefully Cisco’s lawyers are cheaper as we will probably have to pay Cisco’s legal costs too.
Of course it is all the ex-CIO’s fault…we’ll just continue to blame him and hope nobody ever gets to know the truth.
