Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Is the morale improving?

When I left this company a few months ago, morale was at the bottom. I couldn’t stand the atmosphere and managed to find another job at a company that might be a little better.

I wonder if there have been any improvements in the meantime? Is the morale improving or is the atmosphere getting worse and worse?

Because BBB wants employees that can’t go anywhere else and can’t afford to lose this job. That way you will do anything asked of you regardless of the moral implications.

Why are you posting on here instead of calling one of your former coworkers? Another fake post

Based on this, BBB is turning into a potential Dollar Store. If you've ever been to Dollar Teee, you know what lies ahead........
Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. announced the launch of its latest owned brand, Simply Essential, on Monday. The collection includes more than 1,200 items, some, such as serving spoons and other kitchen essentials, priced as low as $1.

With SO many new changes...it’s getting worse! Many are pi---d at the new uniforms, the fact that half our registers are broken....at least my managers seem cool/collective or else I’d really be losing it!

Our shelves are empty, BBB is all about eCom now and store level fulfillment of eCom orsders of what little "desirable" inventory we do have. It's tough to have formerly regular customers come in and walk out because we can't provide them what they want. I've heard a dozen times in the last month, "If i wanted to order it online, I would have ordered it from Amazon today". The few customers who do order from BBB online frequently end up returning the order here, because the fulfillment time is too long, or because they order 5 things and they arrive in 5 boxes from 5 different places. Tough to maintain a positive attitude....

Maybe my store is an outlier but I feel after the firings and with some (not all) of the changes being implemented, many employees seem more engaged and the store seems to be flowing much better. Obviously you can only do so much with employees being started at low wages, therefore management and what is left of full time staff is having to continue to carry most of the work load, but even part time employees seem more motivated and happier than before the pandemic. Bed bath MIGHT slowly be going in the correct direction. Only time will tell.

Half of our store didn't WORK, period, before the pandemic.

Morale is somewhat store specific depending on how well your store. Works together as a team.

Its relatively the same, I think more and more employees are just going through the motions while either looking for new positions or waiting for the next direction corporate is going to take us. Problem with the corporate side of things is that there is barely any sort of communication from up there down to the store level that nobody knows if things will even stay the same in the next few months.
