I try to figure out why this company allows the type of behavior displayed by my manager. That man yells, creates a hostile work environment, he is overly demanding and looks very frustrated. Also, it is not uncommon for him to make fun of some employees. His behavior is getting worse and worse. It is by no means clear to me how he still has a job.

Because BBB wants employees that can’t go anywhere else and can’t afford to lose this job. That way you will do anything asked of you regardless of the moral implications.
Have you not worked anywhere else? This not BBBY specific. Being a manager includes telling people what to dom "Overly Demanding" ? I am not sure how those two words go together. As far as making fun of people..that could be over the line..examples please
We only had 3 of these as AMs at 53. Down to one, I hear.
Two things. 1) It’s not reported 2) It’s reported but because HR gets a lot of complaints from employees who think they are yelled at when a manager tells them to do something vs. asking if they will. Or they are mean because they didn’t say pretty please with sugar on top.
They can't fix what they don't know about. It's because every one of those actions is not reported immediately. (Sorry, "Oh, they KNOW it's going on" doesn't cut it. Each and every person witnessing it makes a report? It will be handled. But generally fear wins out and bad managers like you describe manage to hang onto it for far too long.
