my store is telling associates they have to ask before using the restroom. is anyone else experiencing this? i don't think grown adults need to ask to go to the restroom. we are not children.

THIS COMPANY IS DETRIMENTAL TO A PERSONS HEALTH.
if you ever had to "ask" to use the restroom and they told you "no" or "in just a few minuts when we get another person" then they are violating OSHA and ADA laws. Call and report them.
This kind of thing just makes me even happier that I left this stupid company. That is so ridiculous.
At my store, the associate just asks another associate if they can watch their area while they go to the restroom. No big deal. Reading comments on here makes me so appreciative of the management staff @ my store!
Careful around this issue. Having to ask permission implies that a supervisor/manager is nearby to cover your duties. If that is not the case, you could have a situation where Belk is employing unreasonable measures, (A) violating OSHA and (B) potentially violating the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1993.
Mine hasn't tried that... yet.
Not since, like, Grade 5 have I ever asked permission to "go", and I would never do so now.
Is because you only have three registers open? Like us.
Again, associates are being harrassed in several ways, manipulate them to quit, and we know why.
