Thread regarding Belk layoffs

jobs posted on Indeed, but nobody is being hired??

for North Carolina, belk has about a dozen jobs on indeed ranging from corporate office to various store locations, but nobody is being hired? we have lost people, but have not hired anyone new in a long time. are they posting jobs without the intention of filling them? this is baffling.

nobody is applying? with the stellar reputation that Belk has? are you sure? the pay is competitive, benefits outstanding, future outlook for the company is bright and shiny, executive leadership inspires, and motivates associates and managers with their compassion and talent, and store management allows associates to build lasting customer relationships. I can't imagine why nobody is applying and nobody wants to stay.

Yes, the process can take a while, but the bigger problem is that no one is applying.
We’ve had the same two positions open for months and in that time, I’ve seen one interview.
Prior to that, they had repeatedly hired both “greeters” and “housekeeping”, two of each, but none of the hirees lasted more than a week. Two of them simply walked out mid-shift.
Trust me, if there were applicants, there would be interviews, and there are zero interviews taking place.

Conversely, one of our greeters switched to housekeeping for more hours, and also just up and walked out 🤦‍♀️

Depending on the position, the hiring and onboarding process can take weeks or even months.
