Very sad what Belk has turned into . I worked for the company for 17 years . I turned in a 2 week notice and it was so bad I couldn’t work it out . The management will not answer the phone for associates . Won’t approve PTO , but takes 2 weeks for herself . They care nothing about their employees as I am a consistent pace setter selling half a million a year meeting all presale and credit goals . Won’t do an exit interview because they know they are terrible . From the 3 stores I’ve worked in the trussville location in Alabama is the absolute worst . Working 9 days with no day off , forget. Getting a weekend off . That is exactly why I’m going to a competitor store . This store will have no merchandise and no associates by year end . 5 managers have walked out in less than a year . Sad for Belk , it was the best feeling walking out knowing I’d never have to step foot in there again .

Crabtree Belk in Raliegh NC was the same way. A fresh breath of fresh air walking out of there. How could I have spent so much time worrying about how we appeared to customers when they never cared? I am relived but heart broken at the same time.
I've shopped at the Trussville store and it is awful! So is the manager! glad you got out.
