Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Great Post, πŸ‘

I haven’t been in here in a long time since I left in December after 20 years. I just couldn’t do it anymore. What used to be a great company to work for became the absolute worst. I’ve done it all... opened 3 stores, received trucks, busted cage after cage of freight, consulted brides and students going to school; Ive caught shoplifters and was never given β€œrewards” that were supposed to be given, even after several reminders for them to do so. I’ve listened to customer complaints and gave them whatever they wanted because we never said NO. It’s all about playing their game. I really wanted to stick it out as I wanted to help my store. I had no issues with any of my co workers. No incentives, oh sorry, one Friday a month $40 of snacks for employee appreciation day. But, I just couldn’t take it anymore. After an especially bad day, I looked in the mirror and asked myself if it was worth being a team player or if it was time to leave the game. I left the field, but I’ve won the game.

My entire store is ready to revolt. When the ASM tells you she doesn’t want to work here anymore...things are tense! Have employees that have been here 15 years ready to pack their bags for another job or retirement. Morale is at an ALL TIME LOW!!

Because upper (corporate) management doesn’t listen to their employees. They never will. But if they keep making stupid decisions that alienate both customers and workers....neither will be left soon!!

This is about as entertaining as watching grown women bicker over purses on Facebook.

Anyone ever look in the mirror and think "i am NOT the hardest worker on the planet" ? So many people on this board are the hardest worker, their manager does nothing, their coworkers are lazy. I was taught that it us rude to be pompous.

Thank you for a sincere and honest look at bed bath and beyond. You are not alone in your experience and feelings. Those of us that have chosen not to leave understand completely and are still giving it 110%. But that’s not to say that the time won’t come where we are offered severance or choose to move on.
