Does anyone know if the front end will be getting a raise? They raised all depts except cashier and service desk

Walmart makes BILLIONS why shouldn’t they pay their employees a LIVING wage? Such as Costco that’s retail and they pay their employees a living wage. Why shouldn’t Walmart do the same? They certainly make enough to take care of their employees.
Welcome to modern retail. This is not the retail from 10-20 years ago. You cannot make a career out of retail unless you go into the management side. Modern retail is a starter job to gain skills and move on or a second job to make ends meet or make a few extra bucks.
Anyone who makes that $20 per hour and is not management or a lead will slowly be pushed out or will retire. Nothing against your years of service or work ethic just the reality of modern retail and online shopping.
Ya there is no communication at my store. Our store manger is awful and so is our front end coach. Well hopefully they won’t just bump up the newbies to what I make after 10 years but wouldn’t surprise me if that happens.
All hourly associates are getting bumps of some kind. Some more and some less. It depends on where you currently are. There was a communication sent to stores that eluded to the fact everyone was getting a reasonable bump, but it turns out not be exactly accurate.
Yes we have people at my store that just got hired and they are making 15.50 I have been here 10 years and make 12. It certainly isn’t fair.
Not everyone got a raise. Claims and DSD have not been given a raise, yet we are locked into a 2% increase for our yearly evaluation regardless of our work performance over the last year. We were told everyone is locked into a solid performer because of all of the raises and covid bonuses given over the last year. There are people make $3 to $4 an hour more than we are that have only been here for a few years. It's taken me 28 yrs to get to $20 hr and some kid comes in making way more than me to just stand around on their phone waiting for someone to tell them what to do. It's sickening. That is This Place!!!
