Vaccine Reaction Pay

Hi all, does anyone know how to call out if you have a bad reaction to the covid vaccine? I see where it says we can have time off with pay but not what to use. Do I use PPTO?

Fight to keep any pto or ppto. Walmart gets reimbursed for that pay and you should be able to keep that time instead of it being wasted on the virus sickness. They are cheating the employees out of the time Call your labor board and for sure call your attorney General in your state and explain to them that walmart is double-dipping on this and you need help. They will call you within 1 or 2 days.

My blood pressure went through the roof after having the first Pfizer vaccine shot. It's still not under control after 2 weeks now. My doctor won't let me cine back to work yet until it's under control for 1 week. Walmart/Sedgwick are throwing a hissy fit but the CDC is strongly recommending to be watched carefully. It could trigger a stroke if it hasn't already. Your health is more important than their stupid job. They just don't want to pay you for sitting at home even though the government is reimbursing them for all pay associated to the China virus and any problems that arise. Don't back down to their threats. Document the days and times you speak to anybody about this.

I mean, you got an untested shot that has no proof that it actually works, with thousands of people reporting adverse reactions and several deaths. Why should the company give you paid time off for your bad decisions?

COVID Vaccine Reaction

  1. What if I have side effects from the COVID-19 vaccine which keep me from coming to work?

You’ll be eligible for time off with pay under the Emergency Leave Policy if you have side effects from the vaccine that
cause you to miss work. Side effects include, but are not limited to fever or chills, body aches, fatigue, headache, or
allergic reactions.
If you are experiencing side effects, time away must be requested within 3 days of vaccination and may be used only
one time per vaccination, for up to two events.

  1. How many times can I take time off for vaccine side effects?

Because the COVID-19 vaccine requires two doses, time away for adverse reactions can only be used twice.

  1. Do associates who get a vaccine still need to social distance?

Yes, vaccinated associates should still continue to social distance, wear masks, and practice proper hygiene. They should
also continue to follow posted guidelines related to symptoms (for example, don’t come to work if you have a fever).

  1. What’s the reporting process if I need to be out due to side effects from the COVID-19 vaccine?

• Report your absence each day as you normally would. The first three days should be coordinated with your facility or
HR leadership before filing with Sedgwick.
• Contact Sedgwick if:
– You are going to be out for more than three days, only after working with your facility for days one through
three.
Visit MySedgwick at One.Walmart.com/LOA to file a request for leave. A medical certification from your health
care provider will be required for time away from work beyond three days and prior to returning to work.

  1. Will I be paid if I miss work because of side effects from the COVID-19 vaccine? If so, how?

Hourly associates and OTR drivers:
• Eligible for up to three days of pay at your regular hourly wage. Report your absence each day as you normally
would.
• HR / Facility Leaders – Please reference the GTA COVID Job Aid for guidance on how to code the first three days
