Its almost exclusive to management middle on up, theirs just a bad culture here and no one does anything about it, people are bullied, ganged up on by managers when you hold their little gossip sessions, booksellers talked over and shot down and straight up disrespected by managers who do little besides get in the way. Theirs one manager where I work who is just nasty beyond belief. A sh– worker and has a habit of bullying woman and older employees and the other managers all know it and do nothing because he’s been there for decades and is tolerated. One day someone is going to hurt one of these people it’s almost happened, people get fed up it gets to personal, I don’t think I’ll leave this place before seeing some middle manager get their head split open. This company needs to start over with the middle management and some of the older leads, their needs to be a reset in the culture.

Department manager where I work always seems to bother the high performing employees guy has a bug up his a– about people who do there job well and are motivated he is always trying to get in their way or trip them up massive inferiority complex he almost seems borderline. Very unprofessional and sad.
One manager was running our overnight/project shift and would regularly show up drunk and leave the staff outside in the cold instead of letting them in or lock them out when they went on break. Someone complained and even though the staff could be seen in Camera waiting to get in while the manager stand at the info desk ignoring them nothing was done to him most of this Group were holiday temps and most were not kept when the holiday was over. The manager is of course still working and I hear is still an a–hole.
The culture is indeed toxic.
Told a manager once” I’ll quit right now and we can go outside” he backed down immediately and laughed it off. I called We Listen. They didn’t.
He confronted me about calling. Told him,He tried to “discipline “ or mess with me in any way, the offer stands. Backed down like the cowardly bully he is.
