Is there any such thing as a loader? And one that actually can drive power equipment? I’m tired of bringing up pick ups and internet orders while I have customers standing in the department waiting. This c-ap happens way too much.

I guess it depends on the store you work at. Our store does a substantial amount of internet sales and has fairly recently added front-end staff whose sole function is to process Sterling (internet) and Genesis (pickup later) orders. It wasn't that long ago that I would be walking in to start my shift (I'm an appliance specialist) and I would get handed a half dozen Sterling orders to pull. It was impossible to get everything done in a typical shift. That being said, we still have very few loaders / pullers that are power equipment certified but I will gladly take the trade of occasionally having to drop an item from top stock over losing several hours a week being a Sterling order puller.
Some people’s job is to sell, and meet goals set forth by corporate, i.e. Sales Per Hour, details, leads, installs, extended protection etc.etc. The more they take you off the floor to pull orders and load customers, the less you can perform. I see it way too much, and there is such a disconnect from management in and out of the stores. The bottom line is they don’t give a damn. Sell and do all the tasks or we will replace you with a lower paid employee. In reality—it’s what they want.
another example of the cut rate retailer that we are.....amateur hour
Our store manager actually jumped on them . She told them if they couldn’t pick the tickets she would find somebody who would !leave the departments alone there busy enough
Our store has it all figured out. Customer Service sends the pick up customers straight to your department to stare you down until you pull their order. They get the customer out of their hair no matter how busy you are in your department. We have a “cart retriever” who does nothing but flip his hair and hide.
I don’t know anything about loaders, but I make a career out of being a free-loader. I’m always just busy enough to fool management into thinking I’m important, but too busy too get my hands dirty. There is always some misguided pawn to do the heavy lifting.
Make them wait that's the only thing you can do once the store has a reputation for never having anyone that can load usually people start to bring in someone with them if not you got to wait
If you dont wanna pull orders or help load, you need to immediately seek other employment. Their are hundreds of things lowes should do but they never will. 20 year veteran here.
Get used to it. I worked there for over 20 years and it was always that way. If you work in a store then you are going to help load and pull product, especially if you are a male employee.
Should have stock people especially on the weekends. The amount they'd pay is minuscule in comparison to the amount they lose from customers leaving because they don't want to wait 30-45 minutes to get help.
