Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

"BE GLAD THAT YOU HAVE A JOB", the rest of the world is not hiring, says the Xerox Manager

This meeting occured when temp staff were complaining that they are given more work for the same pay,

Xerox employees treat them as second class citizens, and they are being coerced to do more work for the same pay by the very company which supports Canada promoting the wage gap theory in third world countries.

Ursula’s communication meetings were so bad that our department quit having group
viewing. Most people stayed at their desk and worked through her announced time slot. The joke was did anyone watch Useless Burns and if so how many people is she going to lay-off this quarter..

Incompetence wrapped up in a golden parachute and a BOD afraid to call her out

Ursula had a chip on her shoulder about the workforce because she knew she was a low intellect token. not enough to enjoy the spoils of being CEO, had to hate the smarter people below her. And then print having to constantly subsidize her massive services failure increased the disdain, it kept rubbing her failure in her face. So she took it out on rank and file

Agree,Ursula in her communication meetings would mention we were lucky to have jobs.
One of her all time quotes when asked if there would be layoffs was,”If I need you, you will be here and if I don’t you won’t.” Sure made everyone feel better about how things were going. She viewed the employee base with total distain, was mean spirited and pretty much cluelessness about what was going on throughout the company..

I think Ursula started that in one of her communication meetings back in the 2008? I remember her saying that and realized then how much she valued employees.

Yup, that's the response I got from my manager when my workload tripled and I asked for a compensation increase. I used to be very committed and go the extra mile. My new work philosophy is do the bare minimum to get me through to retirement.

Heard that bull$HIT statement for the 20 plus years I was there. Even with covid there is work out there and much of it pays comparable and with a lot less stress and negativity.

When our operations people got rebadged to HCL in 2019, our president was bothered that a lot of them “were being negative”. Oh, I’m sorry... should we be happy our jobs were outsourced and we got more work heaped on us in the interim? What a joke.

Let go a year ago and all I have is a temp job that pays less and no PTO.

Ohhh xerox, Management philosophy of intimidation, lies and belittlement as outdated as your junk technology. The sooner you join Blockbuster (2nd worst Icahn investment ever) the better.
