Sometimes it’s funny how lazy my store manager is. I don’t really know how he managed to get into a managerial position but he is one of the laziest people in our store. In addition to being lazy he is super slow at everything he does.
I would not like to gossip about him further, but every time I see him I wonder how the worst employees end up in managerial positions?

A trained monkey can be a mid level manager. It's all process execution. Beyond that, SM and above, you have to have some level of talent or you fail.
Just remember the tree W's. What to kiss, Who's to kiss, and When to kiss it. That's how they got ahead. It's always been that way in corporations.
Yes from the people who hire you to these young bosses. I bet many of them got hired on their looks not credentials. Do you see these female ASM’s and female coordinators? Dumb and inconsiderate but good looking. But those who work hard try to do the right things for the company gets passed by and walked on.
Most positions in Lowe's these days are handed to someone. It's all about who you know and if you're one of the teacher's pets. Prior experience and/or credentials are no longer a prerequisite in moving up. Some move up the ladder from new hire to ASM within one year and some work decades with no chance of advancement!
It is not being lazy... it is being smart. Contrary to what your misguided parents or incompetent teachers told you, hard work NEVER pays off. Ignorant, dumb, or outright stupid people never figure this out and they spend their lifetimes working for peanuts. Smart people, on the other hand, know that the unwashed masses will fight each other to the death over table sc-aps. So they just sit back and watch the comedy unfold.
Manager here. I don’t get paid to work fast. That’s what plebes like you are here for. Sooner or later you will wake up and realize that the only thing hard work gets you is more hard work. If you want to keep your health, your sanity, and a steady job, get into a management position where you ‘lead’ stupid people who have not figured this out. It is the American Way.
