Thread regarding Hitachi Vantara layoffs

How many people are impacted?

I am very sorry for all my former colleagues who now face uncertainty and stress. I have heard that layoffs are underway and that it is impacting all areas. How many people will be laid off?

Some support:
If it will help anyone, I just decided to quit one day because I couldn’t stand the situation in the company anymore and I did it in the dumbest way possible - before finding a new job. After that, the very next month I started working in the company I am in now and I feel better already.

Regarding my ‘stupid question’, you’re the id–t. You tell your potential employer those things you said, and good luck landing a job.

Obviously you have no earthly idea what goes on interviewers’ heads when you lay down all those complaints. You must be a junior individual contributor who has never been on the interviewer side.

What a stupid question with regards to interview. This person just explained their disgust with HV that brought them to the break point of terminating them instead of being terminated. HV treats their employees like sh!t. No raises in the past 11 years. Lousy bonuses. No opportunities for growth. No one goes into an interview with a f¥cking attitude except for maybe you.

Very gutsy to quit without something lined up.

Congrats on landing on your feet! You need to tell us how you explained quitting during interview. If I were interviewing someone, I’d be wary of ‘I just hated my job, so I quit.’ How did you frame it without turning off the interviewers?
