Asked for a package. Had some initial misgivings, but after a week of reflection I could not be happier. Taking the summer off 😀
Face it, CVE leadership was barely hanging on before this takeover and in general have no clue how to run 2 oil sands plants let alone refineries, offshore, and retail.
The architect of the Husky's last disasterous 5 years is Jon McKenzie. Jon led HSE investments in Newfoundland and the US, he has very few qualifications to be CFO let alone COO. I had a negative view of him before all this, which my Husky colleagues have only confirmed and then some. Accountability is something he'll never know. Always some reason it's my fault, your fault, the workforce's fault. Never his fault but he's glad to accept the big paycheque.
The whole CLT as demi-gods who shall not be questioned proposition, or the constant hiring of million-dollar consultants to help them, is demeaning. They have experts in their midst but won't ask for help in case it makes them look stupid and unqualified, which most of them are. Oil will not recover enough to make this company worthwhile. I'd rather work for half the pay doing something worthwhile than continue with this Dilbert situation. Adios.
