Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Terrible crime problems in the stores

I have always liked shopping at Walmart, but no more. It has become a risky venture just trying to buy groceries. Most stores have police sitting out front, first clue it is not safe to be at Walmart. And the public is paying for the police presence. Walmart should be providing their own security if the store is that crime laden. My second rant is....when I do build up the nerve to go shopping at Walmart, it looks like a hurricane came through the isles. The out of stocks are horrendous and have been for two years, prior to COVID. I sympathize with the store employees, over work, to few of them and constantly intimidated and harassed by nasty shoppers. I do my shopping else where and am happy to pay a few dollars more for a secure shopping experience.

Risky? We have thousands of stores and I only know of three incidents nationwide in over 10 years where actually necessary (outside of theft). What exactly are you afraid of? Agree about stocking. Ever since they stopped stocking overnight, it’s been a problem. And now with the OG pickers running around (literally), it’s even worse.

Walmart created the crime problem in the stores they won’t charge shoplifters the criminals know it’s catch and release they are told not to come back but they are in the store the next day and miss management won’t do anything

There is always more internal theft than external theft. Look at the NRF results of shrink.

The directive has always been that there is more internal theft than customer theft which we all know is a lie so they can spy on employees without being held accountable. Their biggest concern is now a union. Because if Amazon organizes and gets a union, walmart/sams is in deep you know what.

That's why me and the wife carry our pistols. Never shop at Walmart without them.

Hell stores shrink continue to rise every year. Markets teams yell at and blame the managers and employees at the respective stores when they shrink over a mill. The reasons for the shrink are a small part theft but mostly due to decisions made at the corporate level. It’s a fact!

Cops at the doors make you feel less safe? They make me feel more safe. They have guns and stuff for the criminals..and when they were allowed to use them it was a deterrent

A couple years ago in Las Vegas they shut down a walmart due to shrink. People walked out all day long and nothing was done to stop it. The 13 percenters have got a free pass to steal now.

Not Walmart’s have police at the stores. Crime is everywhere doesn’t necessarily just happen in certain neighborhoods. I work at Walmart and we have store security.

Where have you been for the last 40 years? Shrink, especially at older stores, has always been a massive problem.
