Whoever wrote here that Emerson missed a great opportunity to modernize the way we’re structured and go to market is completely right. The company wasted a chance and cut what’s most important. What is the logic of weakening the company in these key fields, engineering and innovation? The consequences are already being felt.

To answer to your question, Automation Solutions is destroying know how and innovation.
Thay had an excellent team very very expert and skilled in actuators' design and they are moving engineering activities to India, thousands of miles from production.
The last "new" product is the electric actuator Bettis XTE which is nothing else that the Biffi ICON 2000 improved and painted orange.
After release of this "new" product the italian product manager and the italian engineering manager who worked on it have been fired by Emerson managers since they do not need them anymore and they want to move decision makers to USA for political reasons.
Where are engineering and innovation being cut? (my business is not doing this and I am curious where it is happening)
