Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Where are they today?

What happened to all those IT people that were rebadged to the outsourcing vendor in 2015? Are they still employed or did the vendor drop them after Pepsi decided to change outsourcing vendors in 2017? Were they hired back by Pepsi.

@1lop+19uYUQYE The issue is the people who were rebadged were NOT given severances. They walked in that day as PepsiCo employees and walked out as HCL employees. Also those that refused rebadging were terminated with no severance. Yeah PepsiCo has a heart of lead. But the Execs all got their bonuses raises and stock options. Vultures.

Boggles the mind how Pepsi presents itself on social media as such a stand up humanitarian company. Reality is rebadging was just a strategy to swindle employees out of their severance packages. Did any rebadged employee get a severance? This was a group of disproportionately older employees entitled to many years of severance. Pepsi saved a fortune by denying people their packages and their benefits. Even worse, many of these older employees were dumped on the leading edge of a pandemic. Their reward for so many years of dedication was struggling with no finances in a limited job market and families to care for. I am sure this compassionate company didn’t loose any sleep over putting all these people in harms way. I don’t know how these executives can spread the gospel of compassion when they rake in their fat bonuses at the expense of so many that they turned their back on. Shameful.

Most were released by their outsourcing companies 2 years after they were transferred over to the Indian companies. In 2014 most were rebadged as “whatever” outsourcing company and released from said company in 2016 or 2017.

I refused all rebadging offers and got shafted out many years of severance but then again got a much better company and vaulted up.

At least they all got healthy severance packages before this pandemic hit. Now companies are giving the bare minimum. I would hate to be cut now.

I knew many of them who were picked up by HCL, BT and Infosys. Many used them as stepping stones to find MUCH better jobs and were much happier and have futures. I really thought it was poetic justice when they replaced Infosys with Cognizant on Support. I almost felt sorry for the Infosys guys.... ALMOST
