Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Target on my back...

I haven’t been working at Lowes for a long time so I don't know how things function here normally.

It so happened that a few months ago I made a small mistake which my manager remembered well and I haven't been at peace since.

For the smallest mistakes anyone makes he always wants to blame it all on me. My work is supervised much more than other employees.

I really don’t know what to do. No matter how hard I try, it only gets worse. I’m afraid I’ll end up getting fired just because he put a target on my back.

If you have worked full time for many years, you have accumulated vacation time / weeks. going to another company you go back to year 1. And no paid vacation for some time.

Don’t let the actions of ONE manager ever determine your career decisions. IF you truly feel that you are being unfairly dealt with, go to their boss and after explaining the problem then tell them that you truly fear retaliation. That should stop the problem.

I’m going to give you some Advice. Get out of that place. I worked for Lowe’s for just about 8 years and quit after the manager give
me a hard time about school. I now work in a hospital, and I’m much happier. You might want to think about going to school or trying to get an Entry level job at a hospital

I would just bring up the mistake all the time especially when other people are around. Maybe even working in to the conversation that he can’t let it go.

Remember, HR is not your friend, They are there to protect the company, and to alert them of you....

Call the 1 800 HR number and tell them you feel like you're being targeted they'll document it and that will get them off your back real quick and if they fire you anyways that's a hostile work environment

Keep track of everything and make detailed notes, including dates/times. It happens. I had an asm at one time that hated my guts, no matter what the quality of my work product was. To her it was just personal. She would write me up for anything. Finally a dropped a dime on her and had a conversation with area HR. Two months later she was gone.

The best defense is a good offense, as soon as you see them coming head towards them and say I’ve been looking for you I want to ask you a question or tell them what you’ve been doing. Worked for me.
