I do so much overtime that it’s no longer bearable. I’m not at the age when I can handle this pace. If I didn’t have to support my family, I wouldn’t worry at all or agree to these conditions.
I just wonder what they think how much overtime a man can handle?
I’m scared, but on the other hand, if the rumour about next month’s layoffs turns out to be true and I happen to be on the list, I’m so tired that I think layoff will come as a relief to me.

P.S- Transportation employees work 12 hrs at a pop, up to 6 days a week. So we don't feel sympathy for complaining about overtime when we get 72 hrs / week +
Must be a electrical gang leader at LPT.
I worked for 13 years in Augusta Ga and was forced to work straight time to cover jobs at a small point. If we said we didn’t wanna work for straight time they would blank the job. Couldn’t work holidays . Feel Lucky you get the overtime and holidays. We were told we were a closed shop our point was closed i down now another point 60 miles away comes and works cars on our old track and services the locomotives! Not a thing we could do the union told us!
At my new job OT is wide open and as per my union contract after 8 hrs of OT it’s double time to the end of pay cycle I love it 7 12’s this week
What else do you "do"?
There’s lots of good reasons to not want to work OT. Age isn’t one of them.
Go get tested for Covid ..... that gets you a few days off and they can’t do anything about it .
That's why they call it Forced Overtime, you have to work.
If we all just refuse to work the forced overtime what will that do? I know it won't happen because no one will stick together, people just try and cut the throat of the guy above them. But if we would all just stick together we could stop this.
Didn't somebody say something like " Those with less than 20yrs will be gone and those with more than 20yrs will wish they were. I do know guys who are being forced to work 72hrs in a five day period. Its real believe it.
You know what... you need to change your s—er out you dingbat... your making a bucket full of money while the rest of us that got let go are scrambling to buy loaf of bread. Be thankful your still there changing out 3/4 inch bolts for 34/hr...
It was a relief.

To the original poster:
I hope for your sake you don't get laid off. There is no way you could possibly fill out an application elsewhere without some outside help. Your whole spill made zero sense. Good luck!
Troll alert.
"I do so much overtime"
I knew after reading the 1st line this post was going to be ridiculous!
